Structured PK Sewer Pipe SN8 PipeKorr – High-stiffness double-wall corrugated HDPE

The PipeKorr SN8 system is the high-stiffness version of NTET structured pipes for buried non-pressure sewer networks. The SN8 class (annular stiffness ≥ 8 kN/m²) is suitable for deep installation and for soils subject to heavy loads, such as road crossings or industrial areas.

Double-wall structure in high-density polyethylene (HDPE): smooth inner wall for excellent hydraulic conductivity, corrugated outer wall for maximum mechanical resistance (type B, UNI EN 13476-3). Connection by means of socket or coupling sleeve with EPDM gasket compliant with EN 681-1.

Dimensional ranges

The PK Sewer SN8 range covers nominal diameters from DN 125 to DN 1200 mm, divided into two dimensional series with dedicated technical data sheets.

Standard diameter range for service connections and deep secondary sewer networks. It includes 8 sizes from DN/OD 125 mm to DN/OD 630 mm, with bars approximately 6.35–6.48 m long.

Structure and material

  • Material: High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE)
  • Structure: Double wall — smooth inside, corrugated outside (type B)
  • Colour: Black (both walls)
  • Nominal diameter: DN/OD (outside diameter)

Connection

Integrated socket or coupling sleeve with EPDM sealing gasket compliant with EN 681-1. The pipe + jointing system is certified as a unit according to UNI EN 13476-3.

When to choose SN8 instead of SN4

The SN8 class is recommended when the pipeline is subject to:

  • Deep installation (more than 2–3 m depending on the soil)
  • Heavy road loads (road crossings, high-traffic areas)
  • Soils with low bearing capacity (soft clays, fill soils)
  • Industrial areas with heavy vehicle traffic

For standard depths and moderate loads, the SN4 class (≥ 4 kN/m²) is generally sufficient.

Certifications and compliance

  • Product standard: UNI EN 13476-3
  • Quality mark: IIP / UNI (body accredited to ISO/IEC 17065)
  • Quality system: UNI EN ISO 9001
  • Environmental system: UNI EN ISO 14001
  • Consortium: Ecopolietilene (Legislative Decree 152/2006 – art. 234)
  • Sustainability: ESG Report compliant with GRI Standards 2021, certified by a third-party body
  • Ethics: Code of Ethics and Legislative Decree 231/01 model

Applications

The PipeKorr SN8 system is designed for buried non-pressure drainage networks subject to heavy loads or deep installation.

  • Sewerage under roadways

Sewer networks laid under roads with heavy traffic (SLW 60 and higher categories). SN8 stiffness ensures resistance to cyclic vehicle loads.

  • Deep collectors

Main sewer collectors laid at depths greater than 2–3 m, where ground pressure requires a higher stiffness class.

  • Industrial and logistics areas

Drainage networks in areas with heavy vehicle traffic, loading/unloading yards and port areas.

  • Soils with low bearing capacity

Installations in soft clay soils, fill soils or areas with a high water table, where ground deformation requires pipes with greater structural resistance.

FAQ

SN4 has annular stiffness ≥ 4 kN/m², suitable for standard depths and loads. SN8 (≥ 8 kN/m²) offers double the stiffness and is intended for deep installations, road crossings with heavy traffic and soils with low bearing capacity. For the same diameter, the outside dimensions and bar lengths are identical.

For dimensional clarity: the STN0FSN80000 sheet covers diameters from DN 125 to DN 630 (8 sizes, service connections and secondary networks), while STN0FSN80001 covers diameters from DN 800 to DN 1200 (3 sizes, collectors and primary networks). The mechanical characteristics are identical.

Yes. It is common practice to use SN8 in the most heavily stressed sections (road crossings, areas with great depth) and SN4 in standard-depth sections. Diameters and jointing systems are compatible between the two classes.

By means of an integrated socket or a coupling sleeve, both equipped with an EPDM gasket compliant with EN 681-1. The system guarantees tightness at 0.5 bar.

Yes. The pipe + jointing system bears the IIP/UNI mark of conformity with UNI EN 13476-3, issued by a body accredited to ISO/IEC 17065. The company is certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

The maximum depth depends on the type of soil, the bedding and the surface loads. In general, the SN8 class allows significantly greater depths than SN4. Sizing must be carried out by static calculation according to UNI EN 1295-1, taking into account the specific project conditions. Contact us for technical support.
